The Golden State Warriors win their first NBA championship since 1975 with a victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Golden State beat the Cavaliers 105-97 to take the NBA Finals four games to two.

The Warriors came to Cleveland fought hard and walked out with the championship. It was not a blowout win in Cleveland but they got it done. The depth of the Warriors and the clutch shooting of Stephen Curry, the MVP, was too much for the Cavs to overcome. Steve Kerr who played with Jordan, is the 1st rookie head coach to win an NBA title since Pat Riley did it back in the 1981-82 season with the Lakers

Even Though LeBron James had a losing effort there was talk of handing him the Finals MVP. That would have been the first time that happened since Jerry West. The data supports him having it. LeBron scored 215 of the Cavs’ 561 points in the finals. It was not meant to be for James or Curry. Instead the MVP went to Andre Iguodala. Andre Iguodala is the only player in to start zero games in the regular season and go on to win the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP award.
