With the OnePlus 2, we’re making a bet on the future, and doubling down on a holistic product experience. We’re excited for what our fans have to say. ~OnePlus Co-founder, Carl Pei.

After months of leaks from the OnePlus camp. The second-generation phone from OnePlus finally became official. Is the OnePlus 2 really a smartphone killer? I’ll say yes. The handset that is said to be the smartphone killer is finally here. OnePlus showed off its new flagship smartphone killer on today. The OnePlus 2 is the first device to ship with OnePlus’ own operating system, OxygenOS. The OnePlus 2 is one heck of a device but will it be a up to the level of its competitors from Android and the iPhone? Only time will tell. It wont be a great seller off the bat. Just like the first one original OnePlus One the OnePlus 2 will be invite only. The special invite system starts on August 11th. The specs of the OnePlus 2 are off the charts. The price is highly affordable compared to the price of other phones on the market. The OnePlus 2 will be available in a 4GB of RAM / 64GB model priced at $389 and a 3GB of RAM / 16GB model priced at $329.

While the OnePlus 2 is one incredible phone it is missing some key features. The device does not come with NFC support. Even the normally closed off Apple iPhone has an NFC type feature in the iPhone 6. While it may be disappointing that the OnePlus 2 doesn’t have a microSD slot I can move past it. What is disappointing is that the OnePlus 2 does not feature wireless charging. They do offer a fingerprint reader. Like the iPhone the fingerprint reader is only locking and unlocking the phone.
