There are five big games being released for the Nintendo Switch this September. If you are a Nintendo Switch player, next month is going to be a good one for you.  What is interesting about the Switch is that Nintendo has adopted the strategy of releasing one major game for the Switch per month.  And that seems to be going well for them.  September is looking quite a bit more stacked than some previous months, with new titles to look out for.  And without further adieu.

Rayman Legends

Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition – September 12

The Definitive Edition offers a few Switch specific features.  Up to four people can play through Rayman Legends cooperative over local wi-fi.  If your’e playing on an undocked Switch, the game supports touchscreen controls for purposes such as moving platforms, cutting ropes and defeating enemies.   A definite must to check out, if you played any of the previous versions.

NBA 2K18

NBA 2K18 – September 19

The NBA games are fun, especially if you’re into the league and you follow any of the players.  However, if you’re not into basketball, there’s a good chance you’re not going to find any enjoyment out of this game.  You will be able to pick up this game, digitally on September 19, but the physical version has been delayed until an unknown date. It will be interesting to see how this game runs on the console, and if this version stacks up well against the PS4 and Xbox One versions.  The game itself is going to feature Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett as commentators.  Which is pretty big in the gaming world.  All the stars make an appearance in this one, so it’s definitely one for you to check out if you’re a basketball fan.  And who isn’t?

Dragonball-Xenoverse-2

Dragonball Xenoverse 2 – September 22

This was released back in 2015, specifically for Playstation 4, but Dragonball Xenoverse 2 is a game that many Switch owners will likely pick up.  With a ton of characters battling it out in 3D arenas, Dragonball Xenoverse is one with a lot of appeal.  And, if you’re interested in Dragon Ball Fighter 2 for the Switch, it’s probably a good idea to pick this one up.

Pokken-Tournament-DX

Pokken Tournament DX – September 22

This is actually the first Pokémon game available for the Switch.  Which is kind of cool, and the graphics look incredible.  You get to be one of the 21 Pokémon fighters to defeat other Pokémon in arena fights.  You can call upon Support Pokémon to assist in the fight, and then unleash your Pokémon’s unique Burst Attack to climb your way up the ranks.  What more could you ask for, really?

FIFA-18

EA Sports FIFA 18 – September 29

It has been reported that the Switch version of FIFA 18, will be a carbon copy of the Xbox One/PS4/PC version of FIFA 17.  It seems that they weren’t able to use the same platform as with the other versions.  It will have it’s own “custom engine”.  Which is concerning some people.  That being said, it still looks like a really good game.  Even if you’re not a fan of soccer, you’re still going to get something out of this one.

Other games that are coming out next month:

  • September 5 – Lego Worlds
  • September 5 – R.B.I. Baseball 17
  • September 20 – Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase
