A security researcher has discovered that AMC Networks had inadvertently exposed more than 1.6 million records of people who subscribed to the company’s two premium streaming video platforms – Sundance Now and Shudder. The publicly accessible database included the names and email addresses of subscribers, as well as details about their subscription plans. Unfortunately, the data included more than 3,000 invoices processed by Stripe, which listed the last four digits of many user’s credit cards. But fortunately, no full payment data or other sensitive information was actually exposed. AMC Networks was alerted of this issue and has already secured the database.

The Los Angeles Lakers are now proceeding with an offer to entice Ty Lue to join their team, and they have no plans to introduce new candidates into their search. In fact, the team has been on its own timetable throughout this process. That said, Lue has been a favorite throughout, and his strong relationship with LeBron James is being seen as a positive. But Lue has impressed the team in interviews in terms of his knowledge of basketball and strategic approach to the Lakers’ roster. The Lakers are determined to stay on their own timetable for making this decision, regardless of what other teams decide to do.

Politics

This week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused Attorney General William Barr of committing a crime when he lied to Congress. She blasted him in a closed-door meeting, and then later during a press conference. This allegation has come after Democrats intensified their criticisms of the Attorney General and his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report after he refused to testify before the House Judiciary Committee this past week. To add fuel to this fire, the Democrats are less than impressed by the Justice Department’s unwillingness to comply with a subpoena to hand over the full, unredacted report.

“We saw [Barr] commit a crime when he answered your question. He lied to Congress. He lied to Congress. And if anybody else did that, it would be considered a crime. Nobody is above the law. Not the president of the United States, and not the attorney general.”

Justin Bieber is teaming up with YouTube on a project. What we don’t know is exactly what that project is. In fact, they’re calling it “top-secret”. But it promises to be one of the most talked about YouTube originals ever, according to YouTube’s Chief Business Officer. Many believe that this is a natural fit for Bieber considering that he was “discovered” on YouTube, and he is the most followed music artist on the platform. Fans will have to wait until 2020 before the project is fully unveiled.

Television

The Big Bang Theory is wrapping up its final season. This comes after twelve years and 279 episodes, and cast members have finally filmed the final episode. If you think about how much time these folks have spent together, it is kind of bittersweet. Before every taping, the cast got together in a traditional huddle, which originally started out as a joke, but then became part of their regular routine. To some, the final taping felt like a graduation, and others wondering how they will feel after the close of the show. Twelve years is a long time to be on the same show, and as an audience, I think we’re both ready for something new and sorry to see it go.
