Sony has been wining the minds of gamers in this round of Next Gen gaming. However, It seems Sony has not been able to translate that into capturing those gamers money. Sony PlayStation 4 had sales of 4.2 million. Microsoft only had 3 million. Last month Xbox One apparently sold more systems in the US last month. The December figures from the NPD group has Microsoft with 908,000 sales for the Xbox One. As a bonus for Microsoft, Xbox 360 sold 643,000 consoles in December. That puts Xbox One first for next-gen of hardware. Keep in mind that the PlayStation 4 remains the cumulative leader for next-gen sales since it came out a week ahead of Xbox One.
Nintendo hasn’t released specific data yet, but the 3DS was the highest selling console overall for both the month of December and all of 2013. Xbox One took six of the top 10 spots for next-gen game sales. The total software sales were 4.8 million on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 had 4.2 million.
