“AppleWatch”

Apple and Tim Cook brought back the “One more thing” for this landmark event.  Apple’s wearable device won’t launch until next year. That said, Apple’s software interface for the Apple Watch is what sold us. The design is not innovative. In fact the Moto360 is much more intriguing in terms of design. Remember when the iPad came out and there were only a few apps? Well developers this is your time to get ahead of the curve. Start developing those apps ASAP. A $349 starting price point means the device is more expensive than other smartwatches on the market but when has Apple ever cared about price?

Apple Pay is the new standard in Mobile payments

Apple is a company that goes at its own speed. It took it’s time with every feature of its iOS software and its hardware. The wait is over for one more feature. Apple will now include NFC connectivity inside every iPhone going forward combined with Apple Pay. Companies like Square and Paypal must be very nervous right about now. The Apple Apple Pay feature uses NFC, Touch ID and a something called the Secure Element chip to keep your credit information secure. Apple won’t know what you’re buying the merchant won’t see your name. Only a one-time payment number and a dynamic security code are used for the transaction.

Right off the bat American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Bank of American, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, Apple Stores, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Walgreens, Subway, McDonald’s, Whole Foods will support Apple Pay. In time look for everyone to fall into line. You can event use the new Apple Pay on the web using a one-touch feature. That means you do not have to enter a card number or shipping address.  Apple Pay will be out in October via a free update to iOS 8. It will work with iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 and Plus.
