After I saw the new Tesla semi truck I had a couple of thoughts. The first was that it looks insanely futuristic. But the second thought was around technology. It makes sense to me that this would be the industry that Tesla would target. Yes, there are a lot of cars on the road. And yes, we could do a better job of being more environmentally friendly when it comes to driving. But at the same time, have you seen how many transport trucks are on the roads now? If the concern is our carbon footprint, then Tesla is definitely headed in the right direction with this vehicle. I’m not suggesting that this will have a big impact immediately, but I think this direction is something that Tesla and other electric car manufacturers need to explore. So what does it look like exactly?
It’s faster than any semi truck that you’ve ever seen. Elon Musk says that it will do 0-60 miles per hour in just five seconds. Which is fast. But what about when the truck is full? Well, it will do the same distance in 20 seconds while pulling an 80,000-pound load. So no more getting stuck behind an annoyingly slow transport truck at a traffic light. What’s interesting about this truck is that the cost is 20% less than a diesel truck on a per mile basis. And with the price of gasoline constantly increasing, this could be a massive saving for a transport company.… Read the rest
The Democrats have been calling for impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump for a while now. But they recently filed the actual paperwork. As I mentioned in another post, this process has begun already. But if you’re not a Trump supporter, this information might not please you all that much. That being said, I think it’s important for everyone to know what the process looks like.
An impeachment proceeding is the formal process by which a sitting president may be accused of some kind of wrongdoing. The articles of impeachment are the list of charges drafted against the president. The vice president and all civil officers of the U.S can also face impeachment. The process begins in the U.S. House of Representatives, where any member of the House may make a suggestion to start an impeachment proceeding. It’s up to the speaker of the House (who is also the leader of the majority party) to determine whether or not to proceed with an inquiry into the alleged wrongdoing.
Which is the position where the current impeachment proceedings are. Waiting for a determination from the speaker of the House on whether they will proceed with an Inquiry. If there is a decision to proceed, the speaker would decide if the House Judiciary Committee handles the impeachment inquiry, or if a separate special committee needs to be formed. The special committee would then have the power to broaden the focus of the inquiry or investigation.… Read the rest
What did you think of our assessment of part one? Fair? The first list was the lower ranked games, which means it can only get better from here on out. You might also be surprised to see that the new World War II game falls on this list, and not closer to the top.
9. Call of Duty: World at War (2008)
World at War was the series last main attempt at exploring a World War II setting and was dubbed the prequel to the later Black Ops entries. World at War had a solid and expectedly glossy campaign, but it suffered from the comparison to the previous year’s classic – Modern Warfare. The game tried a bit too hard to come across as gritty and horrific. The end result wasn’t what you expected. What did we get with this game? Nazi Zombies and the delightful co-op mode that has become a mainstay of the series.
8. Call of Duty: WWII (2017)
Well, here it is. Activision’s long-awaited return after a few years of diminishing returns with futuristic and sci-fi storylines. So did it live up to the hype? Yes and no. Yes, because it’s an amazing game, but no because it doesn’t rank higher on our list. There’s no way that it would ever have had the same impact of the series influential earlier entries, but it does a good job of reviving the Call of Duty 2 formula. And it adds a bit more modern flash. … Read the rest
