What can you do in three plus hours? Well if you were home last night, most likely you were watching the The 87th Academy Awards. The show that does a great job of honoring the best talent in films was long but was worth it this year. There were 60 movies nominated for Oscars but the Academy only gave out 24 golden statuettes.
By far the big winner of the night was Birdman. The movie which I still think is a documentary about Michael Keaton’s life after Batman won four Academy Awards including Best Picture. The Freed Green Tomatoes of this generation, Grand Budapest Hotel also won four little golden men. Interestingly enough, this year every single film nominated for Best Picture won at least one award. The only upset of the night was Eddie Redmayne winning Best Actor over Michael Keaton.
