First Yahoo now Nokia. It seems that Microsoft has a jones for taking over companies that are on there way down.  Nokia CEO Steven Elop effectively ended Nokia’s history as an ecosystem  and said here you take it over Microsoft Windows Phone.

Nokia’s share holders must have thought the same thing because the stock took a nose dive today. At one point it was 14% down.  It was to be expected though. Nokia is really taking a beating on the public markets now.

The stock is not the only thing that has left. Over 1K employees left work early today.  They were after all most affected. Nokia’s Tampere office have crafted the OS through the years. So what do you do when you find out your company has given up on your work, effectively giving up on you?  Apparently they walked away from their jobs today before Elop has a chance to fire them later.  These people are smart though, they use their flexible work schedules to enable this.
