How to you make an iconic first person shooter better and gain new fanboys at the same time?  Bring in one of the most beloved characters ever to the franchise. Kevin Spacey will be featured in the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It is very clear Kevin Spacey will be playing Frank Underwood. However, It would be very cool if Netflix would let that fly. Speaking of flying, it seems this Advanced Warfare is even more into the future. The footage from the trailer has hover-bikes that look very similar to Halo bikes. At one point a soldier put on wall-climbing gloves and went right up the side of a building.

Interestingly enough the footage used for the YouTube trailer released by Activision is all from the Xbox One. The trailer was leaked on the internet a few days before. Activision had to release the official trailer. The Call of Duty big promo was meant to be revealed on May 4th but once something is leaked, one has no choice. There is no such thing as bad press. This is the first Call of Duty game to be developed by Sledgehammer Games. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the latest name change for the series. The others were called Black Ops, Ghosts, and Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be released to the masses on November 4, 2014 for current (Xbox 360/PS3) and nextgen (Xbox One/PS4) consoles as well as the PC. Advanced Warfare hits shelves on November 4th. The game not only has a new developer but also has been in the works for three years. This is Sledgehammer’s first shot at creating a classic. Both Infinity Ward and Treyarch have released the games every other year that end up being the first person shoot that all others are compared to. The series every year ends up being one of the top selling games entertainment product of the year. The games even end up selling more than the biggest summer blockbuster movie. That continued success is why the Call of Duty is one of the best-selling videogame franchises in history.

Last year was a disappointing for Call of Duty. Call of Duty Ghosts developed by Infinity Ward did not get a warm reception. The critics didn’t like it much and financially although the game did well it did not match the previous releases. Sledgehammer has to hit it out of the park on the first swing. From the looks of the trailer, they are on the right track. You can not go wrong with Frank Underwood on your side.
