HBO may not consider Netflix on par with its established content of shows but that has to change. Netflix continues to deliver great original content. It in just a few short years Netflix has established itself as a very respectable original content producer. Netflix earns 31 Emmy nominations. It is nice to see that Netflix is getting the recognition that they deserve. The 31 total Emmy nominations are more than double the number of Emmys that Netflix shows received in 2013. The two shows that led the way were of course was House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
The very addictive show House of Cards got nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series, Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series, to name a few. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright got nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, respectively. House of Cards got a total of 13 Emmys.
Orange is the New Black was head and shoulders above the competition for comedies. They got nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series. Taylor Schilling got a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress, Kate Mulgrew got a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and Uzo Aduba actually was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. Orange Is The New Black got a total of 12 total Emmy nominations.
