Common and John Legend are fresh off winning a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for their song “Glory” from the film “Selma.” How to follow that up? By releasing the video for song Glory of course.  However before you we show that watch the speech below. Common, who is never at a lost for positive words delivered a very powerful speech when it mattered most. Everyone was listing. He could have just thanked God (which he did) but he also had a message for all those that would listen (which was everyone had to do at the time) about Civil Rights. Just in case you don’t want to watch the whole speech it is quoted right under the video.

The  Golden Globe Speech

“As I got to know the people of the Civil Rights Movement, I realized I am the hopeful black woman who was denied her right to vote. I am the caring white supporter killed on the front lines of freedom. I am the unarmed black kid who maybe needed a hand, but instead was given a bullet. I am the two fallen police officers murdered in the line of duty. ‘Selma’ has awakened my humanity.” ~Common
