As expected Furious 7 speeds past box office records. The Fast and Furious franchise is always over the top to say the least. This one was really ridiculous but still enjoyable. This one had the biggest opening weekend out of all the other movies. Not only that but Furious 7 made more than every single movie in the Twilight movie combined, more than all the Star Wars movies and even more than the first Spider-Man movie. Furious 7 had the biggest domestic launch since The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Furious 7 took in $384 million worldwide this weekend. That makes it the ninth biggest opening weekend of all time.
The only downer for all this excitement is that Paul Walker will not be there to enjoy all the success he helped build in fifteen years of over the top racing action. Director James Wan did some great camera work although the story is to be desired. However, you do not go to a Fast & Furious movie for the plot. You go for the cars, the women, the action and the fights. Come on people they had skydiving cars! The Rock vs Jason was what we expected. If this really the last one it ended very well. There was a great tribute to Paul Walker at the end.
