I’m going to assume you have heard of Star Wars but if for some reason you have been living under a rock, here you go;
The franchise depicts a galaxy described as far, far away in the distant past, and it commonly portrays Jedi as a representation of good, in conflict with the Sith, their evil counterpart. Their weapon of choice, the lightsaber, is commonly recognized in popular culture. The franchise’s storylines contain many themes, with strong influences from philosophy and religion.
That business side of the Star Wars saga is a bit more complex. First it’s considered a space opera. The franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series, consisting of two trilogies. Although the original trilogy is way better than the lackluster 2nd efforts. Regardless, all the films did phenomenal in the box offices. So good in fact that The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion and announced that it would produce three new films.
Seems Disney was not content to just own the comic world of Marvel. Disney’s release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is without a doubt the biggest release of 2015 and might be 2016 as well.
