Neptune Suite Hub

Neptune Suite Hub is the future of smartwatches. That is not something that Apple or Google want to hear. However if the folks behind Neptune Suite Hub can deliver on even half of what it promises it will be the device to beat in the space. I am not fans of crowdsourcing products. I treat them like CES products. Great promise but hardly ever make it to the customer. Almost two years later, I’m still waiting on my COIN or refund both of which were promised by the company. That said there are some exceptions that are worth taking note of. The door lock August was one of them. The Neptune Suite Hub looks like it too could be the next one to be a great success. Neptune Suite Hub is a smartwatch project on Indiegogo. There is no fear of them not reaching their goal. They are almost at $1 million in just two days with a goal of $100,000 by April 14th.

What sets Neptune Suite Hub apart from other smartwatches is that it is the brains of a suite of products. It will have a 2.4-inch touchscreen display, 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 64GB of RAM, 3G and LTE support (nano-SIM), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC. LG and a Samsung  both have standalone devices but neither of them come close to matching the versatility of  Neptune Suite Hub. The Neptune Suite Hub acts as your smartphone in that it can give functionality to other screens. The Neptune Hub can be paired with a 5-inch HD Pocket Screen, 10-inch Full HD Tablet device or even your HDTV.

The Neptune Suite Hub will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop not Android Wear. Those that already run Android will have a very familiar experience when they get the device. Neptune Suite says since the device will need less power than other devices since it will last for a pretty long time with a 1,000 mAh battery inside. You can also use the 5-inch HD Pocket Screen or 10-inch Tablet as external battery packs for the Hub. Neither the smartphone or tablet devices contain components that consume power. They are just screens for the Neptune Suite Hub. When the Neptune Suite Package is released it will go for $899. They are aiming for a February 2016 release. I for one can not wait.
