Android

Let’s get this out the way now. The Android Wear update won’t alleviate Apple Watch envy. Google has better products but Apple is a marketing, design and ecosystem monster. Case in point the Android Wear update should have everyone running to get the an Android Wear watch. The fact you can leave your phone in the car and still use your watch is incredible. It’s almost like having cellular service with you all times built-in. However, Apple has the mind share of loyal geeks and non geeks alike. Sorry Google but you will not win this round. Maybe you should have brought Tesla. Any who, here are the new features of the new software that should give Apple pause or at least something to think about.

“As long as your watch is connected to a Wi-Fi network, and your phone has a data connection (wherever it is), you’ll be able to get notifications, send messages, and use all your favorite apps”~Google

  1. Leave your phone behind:

Android Wear connects to your phone via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Get notifications, listen to music and track your run on your watch. Even when your phone isn’t with you.

  2. Useful information at a glance

Android Wear shows you suggestions and useful information before you even ask—messages from friends, meeting details, info from your favorite apps, and more. Your Android Wear watch display is always-on, so the time and apps are always a glance away.

  3. Stay connected when your hands are full

Simply say “Ok Google” to your watch to send messages, ask questions, track your commute and get stuff done. You can also flick your wrist to scroll through handy information.
