Do not buy the Keystone 3 Pro. The hardware is faulty. Support department seems to be one unhelpful person named Tree who has no concept of how crypto works. There is video of the Keystone 3 Pro literally entering its own Passphrase due to a calibration issue. The company admits to the hardware issue after weeks of back and forth however they still say it is the users problem. Again, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
Keystone Pro 3 Review – A Disappointing Crypto Wallet Experience
In the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency, the security and reliability of hardware wallets are paramount. As enthusiasts eagerly anticipate unwrapping their latest tech gadgets during the holiday season, one user received a Keystone Pro 3 as a Christmas gift, aiming to replace their trusted Ledger Nano X. Little did they know, their festive spirit would soon be dampened by a series of frustrating encounters with this supposedly advanced crypto wallet.
Within days of unboxing the Keystone Pro 3, the user encountered a troubling issue – the screen began inputting characters on its own, rendering the device unusable and impeding any attempts to update its firmware. While suspicions pointed to a potential fault in the center bottom of the screen, conclusive evidence remained elusive. Soon enough, the screen ceased to function altogether, leaving the user in a state of digital disarray.
Undeterred by this setback, the user took matters into their own hands, purchasing a replacement Keystone Pro 3 out of pocket. Following a successful firmware update and the importation of their Shamir Seed Phrase from the defunct device, hopes were high for a seamless transition. However, reality struck hard as the user discovered that their original Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) wallets were nowhere to be found. Despite diligent efforts to alter the derivation path on the new device, the elusive addresses remained stubbornly out of reach.
The root cause of this crypto conundrum lies in the erratic behavior of the original Keystone Pro 3, which inexplicably saved an unknown passphrase during its stint of autonomous character input. Without this crucial piece of information, the replacement device stands powerless to recover the user’s precious crypto assets.
In a poignant conclusion, the user finds themselves in possession of two Keystone Pro 3 devices – one with a non-functional screen and the other devoid of their cherished accounts, effectively locking them out of their crypto holdings. This debacle underscores a glaring hardware failure, absolving the user of any culpability. Despite reaching out Keystone for support on their Twitter/X handle (@KeystoneWallet), their website, and notably their chaotic Discord channel, no resolution was provided. A lone support figure named Tree, seemingly unaware of crypto intricacies, further exacerbated the user’s plight.
Regrettably, what was envisioned as a seamless transition from the Ledger Nano X to the Keystone 3 Pro has morphed into a cautionary tale of misplaced trust. This unfortunate saga serves as a costly lesson, urging others to steer clear of this Keystone Wallet and its unreliable devices. Hardware malfunctions compounded by lackluster support constitute an unacceptable breach of trust in the burgeoning realm of cryptocurrency.
