Bruins win first Stanley Cup since 1972. That is a very long time before getting that first win. So don’t feel too bad Mr. Lebron “South Beach” James. You will get one before that. Alright back to the ice. Boston Bruins waited 39 years for Stanley Cup and it was worth it.
Those that thought the Bruins had no chance going up against the Canadians had another thing coming. The Bruins are the first team in NHL history to win three game 7’s in the same postseason. So we should have not counted them out after dropping two early. Boston lost first two games in Vancouver but came back to win it all. They are just the third team since 1966 to do that. The rink was surrounded by more than 100K fans outside waiting for the Boston Bruins to come out with a win.
Thomas made 37 saves. If that was not enough for the talented goalie. It was also his second shutout of these finals. Thomas only gave up 8 goals to the Canucks in seven games. He also shutout Vancouver in two games. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand scored two goals apiece. Brad Marchand is just a rookie and is esthetic to win in his first year. That is all it took for the Bruins to beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-0. With that their first championship since 1972 was in the bag.
Now with Hockey and Basketball out of the way the only thing left to do is wait for Football. They better play this year!
