The fact that Tesla’s Powerwall sold out until 2016 should not be a surprise. People and business have been waiting for a product like this for some time. Elon Musk said that the demand for the new Powerwall was “crazy off the hook.” This is a new product category for Tesla but they know how to make a great battery. The work that has gone into making their cars the standout in electric vehicles will have the same success in the home. There are already 38,000 reservations for the new Powerwall. That is enough to take production through mid-2016. The demand is so high that it is enough fill Gigafactory’s production if all it did was make stationary batteries. The Powerwall doesn’t have a DC-to-AC inverter included, it does have a DC-to-DC unit built in.
