starbucks

Customers will have to spend around $150 to reach gold status for the year and then $63 after that for every free item.

Bad news folks. If you’re like you love your Starbucks. Whats more more you love your Starbucks Rewards program. That however is about to change. That morning cup of coffee or whatever you drink there will still cost the same but the stars will not. Starbucks has it made it that much harder to get a free drink. The new changes to the My Rewards program now simply called Starbucks Rewards will have you spending a lot. A whole lot more to qualify to get that prize. Before today all you needed to collect was 30 stars. At one star per visit. Unless you game the system and made your barista ring each item as a new transaction that is. Once you hit that 30, you were “gold” status for the whole year. As a Gold member every 12 more stars (visits) got you a free drink or food item.

That was the good old days. With the new Rewards program you know have to amass a whopping 300 stars to qualify for gold status. After that you need to get 125 more stars to get a free item. The real kicker is stars are no longer based on visits, they are based on cold hard cash. Customers will be awarded 2 stars for every dollar they spend. Customers will have to spend around $150 to reach gold status for the year and then $63 after that for every free item. That just ridiculous and social media is already letting Starbucks know how they feel about it.
