Just a few moments I felt the building shaking. The first thing I did was go Twitter and ask “Did anyone else in DC feel the earth quake?” Turns out it was the not just DC or the DMV area. It was everywhere on the east.
The news is still coming in. Sprint is not able to make phone calls but using my iPad, Talkatone and AT&T network I was able to make calls thorough to some people. Still working on the rest. Seems there are some network issues as to be expected. DC Metro will still run if you take it but they will be going at 15MPH while they check the tracks.
The largest natural earthquake in Colorado in more than a century struck Monday night in the state’s southeast corner. It was 5.3 that may have been the warning sign that it would it way to the east.
The DC 5.9 magnitude earthquake centered northwest of Richmond, Va., shook much of Washington, D.C., and was felt as far north as Rhode Island and New York City. So far none of the after shocks that have hit have caused major damage. No lives have been lost at the time of this post in this once in a century event.
