Not everyone is looking forward to the new year. On January 4 the preliminary hearing will begin for Dr. Conrad Murray, the former doctor of the late Michael Jackson. Though Murray has admitted to giving the late king of pop propofol, he has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and his defense is that Jackson administered himself with a lethal dose of the drug so he could sleep.
FYI Propofol is an anesthetic used to put patients to sleep during surgery so its pretty powerful stuff. Jackson was found dead on june 25, 2009. Toxicology reports were positive for painkillers and propofol in his system at the time of his death. If convicted Murry faces up to 4 years in prison.
