I think the most important thing that comes out of this is options for customers. You are not trapped to one network. But there are some trade offs to think about.
- This is a CDMA Phone: As I stated earlier, this phone is not going to be able to surf the web and talk at the same time.
- This phone is iPhone 4: What this means is that come this Spring when apple releases a new iPhone 5 you will still have the old phone. There is no guarantee that iPhone 5 will come to Verizon. Even if it does it sure will not come to Verizon first. Apple will most likely get it first.
- Verizon is not Cheap: In fact it is one of the most expensive services out there. I don’t think people are ready to got from the $90 they pay now at AT&T to over a $100 they would be paying at Verizon. That is before the extra cost for tethering. *Verizon has not given price yet but I can bet it will be in line with Android phones*
- AT&T does not suck, sort of: It really does not. It may seem that way to you but if you travel it does not really have bad service in areas. It’s just that the areas that are very important to tech are not one of those areas.
