Facebook is starting to put everything into focus. Look out Google and Twitter things are not looking for you. Google’s YouTube is the king of content on the internet but that may soon change. That is because Facebook has finally letting people use embeddable video. This is a very big deal that could, should and will cut into YouTube’s market share. That was one of major announcements Facebook made. There will more news to come but here is what we have for now.

  • Third-party developers can make FB Messenger apps. Facebook is not in the business of making apps. However they have no problem letting companies use the platform to bring people in. Everyone wants to be where the most profit can be made. With the lineup of social apps that Facebook has everyone wants a piece of it. With good reason. There are 600 million people who use Messenger every month.
  • On This Day is a feature that will give you a page every day that will bring up photos that were taken on the same day in years past. To access this page go to facebook.com/onthisday
  • Embeddable video is here after lots of pleading.
  • Comments are now real time and sync between the story page as well as the shared story item on our Facebook Page.
  • Facebook now supports 3D, spherical video in the newsfeed. To move around the video use your mouse.
  • FB launched Parse for Internet Of Things which is a set of SDKs that act as the backend brains for IoT projects. Right now it is only compatible with Arduino. There are other platforms on the way.
