HBO has finally learned its lesson. It will no longer be giving easy access to pirates. Even though Game of Thrones is currently the most pirated TV show ever. HBO said it will no longer be providing reviewers with DVDs containing episodes of its shows prior to their air dates.
“Amazingly enough, it wasn’t until just recently that a DVD was leaked online,” HBO EVP of Corporate Communications Quentin Schaffer
In April, four unaired Game of Thrones episodes were leaked to torrent sites. These episodes were from a review DVD. So reviewers will get early access to episodes via a secure streaming service. The streaming policy starts this week with three new episodes of Veep.
