Microsoft gave the final word on what Windows 10 would cost. Yes, it will be a free download to Windows 7 and Windows 8 PC owners. However that is only if you got a PC within the last year. Everyone else will have to purchase a Windows 10 version. There may have been a lot of change under the hood but Windows 10 prices are as expected. Windows 10 prices fall in line with all the its older versions. So expect to see prices between $110 for the Home edition to as high as $199 for the Pro edition.
