Facebook may have just took over the global messaging market. It’s not enough that they own WhatsApp. They forced everyone to download their standalone Facebook Messenger. Now they have taken that a step further. New users will no longer be required to have an account tied to the social network to access Messenger. All a user will need is a phone number, their name and a photo.

They will have access to all the Facebook Messenger features that a user with a Facebook account user would have. They get stickers, group chats, photos, video and can even make free voice calls. For now the new way to log-in is only available in Canada, the United States, Venezuela and Peru.
