If you were hoping that politicians would be get a clue and make some changes from the rumored Backdoor bill, you were wrong. The law effectively requiring encryption backdoors is now no longer rumor. It is an actual bill that if passed could become law. Sort of, The White House has already come out publicly stating that it will veto the bill if it makes it to the President’s desk. If you are one of those folks that feel the devil is in the details, here you go. The Senate has released a finished version of Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein’s Compliance with Court Orders Act, which demands that companies either produce data in a readable format when asked or else offer whatever help they can to make that data accessible.
