Mulan poster

Starting September 4, with Premier Access, you can watch Mulan before it’s available to all Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ will offer Premier Access to Mulan for $29.99-$34.99 depending on where you live.

The Premier Access offer will be available until November 2, 2020, 11:59 p.m. PT. If you didn’t get it by then, you will have to wait. If you did pay for Premier Access you will be able to watch Mulan for as long as you are an active Disney+ subscriber. If you cancel Disney+ that $30 is gone. You are not buying the movie, just access.

Mulan will be available to all Disney+ subscribers on December 4, 2020 for no additional cost. This is one hell of a bait and switch. I so want to watch this movie but I’ll wait. If you pay $30 now, you are just renting it for 3 months before it’s given away for free as part of your Disney+ subscription anyway.

However, from a business standpoint, this is a brilliant way to grow revenue from an already dedicated group of people. These are just my thoughts. What do you think? Would you feel different if it were an MCU movie?
