I would have loved to be a fly in the Twitter boardroom today as they heard the details of the Facebook press conference. Vine is doing great. 30 million users great. Now that Instagram is in the mix, it will only be a matter of time until active user base goes down for Vine. Facebook integrated video with Instagram rather than it’s own Facebook app. Instagram videos can also be spiced up and filters can be added. One cool feature is that you can also delete just segments of the video rather than deleting the whole video.
In the case of Video on Instagram is up to 15 seconds in length rather than the 6 seconds on Vine. Instagram added 13 brand new filters that are dedicated video filters. The new “Cinema” in Instagram digitally stabilizes video as it is captured on the iPhone or Android phones. Facebook said that 16 billion photos have been shared on Instagram and over 1 billion pictures are liked everyday. Instagram has a monthly 130 million active users.
