Beginning Friday morning in Sprint stores, Sprint will offer the iPhone 6s 16GB for $1/month and the iPhone 6s Plus for $5/month

This new offer is crazy. Why don’t airlines have these price wars anymore? Keep in mind this is a lease and you don’t actually own the phone. Just like when you lease a car, you don’t actually own it. You are just renting it for awhile. That said, it is hard to turn down a new iPhone for just a buck a month. To get this deal you have to join Sprint’s iPhone Forever program. You have to trade in your old smartphone or be upgrade-eligible if you’re a current Sprint customer. The old deal was $15 a month.

Higher memory configurations of the iPhone 6s are $5.77/month for the 64GB and $10.53 for the 128GB. For the 6s Plus, higher memory configurations cost $9.77/month for the 64GB and $14.53 for the 128GB. Which are both very good deals if you want to lease your phone and plan on staying with Sprint for the next few years.

“Once again it is clear that the best place to get the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is Sprint. New and existing customers who trade in their current iPhone 6 can now get a device for only $1/month, making it the best way to get the iPhone – and a yearly upgrade is included in this charge. We are certain that more people will continue to switch to Sprint because of the great service and value we offer.” ~Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure
