Remember Apple does not invent. It redesigns for simplicity, innovates when a standard is formed, modifies for better processes and monetizes for margin gains.

To say that I am excited for my iPhone 6s is putting it mildly. Yes, I know the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a way sexier phone. It’s just that Apple has a way go sucking you in. There is no way to escape the event horizon of a new iPhone release. The only thing that has changed is everything is so smart that it is practically elementary. Apple has effectively cut off your arguing point before you get a chance to utter it from your lips. However has it changed everything? Well, yes and no. Both the front and rear cameras are great upgrades but trivial at best. Live Pictures which is just a Gif renamed is gimmicky at best. 4K is great but the Apple TV does not support it and it takes up too much space on your iPhone.

It’s too early to know if iPhone 6s will be the one that people who are not fanboys embrace but it sure has a lot to offer. As a tech guy and avid reviewer I am aware that 3D Touch is eerily similar to how Android “long press” feels. I also thought that 3D Touch at first seemed to be nothing more than an upgraded version of the Apple Watch Force Touch. However a closer look reveals that it is so much more. 3D Touch has the potential to be an industry standard like the touch screen was when Apple brought it to market. Remember Apple does not invent. It redesigns for simplicity, innovates when a standard is formed, modifies for better processes and monetizes for margin gains. Don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with that. It is good business model that has served Apple well and in the process has helped change the way we live our lives. Will the iPhone 6s continue the legacy?
