Apple has released iOS 9.1 which is bad news if you have not jailbroken your iPhone yet. The update takes care of some bug fixes and adds improvements. However it also kills the new Pangu Jailbreak for iOS 9 – 9.0.2.  If you upgraded your iPhone by mistake we have you covered. This is how to downgrade your device to iOS 9.0.2. Please note that this will only work while Apple is still signing the iOS 9.0.2 firmware. Apple can stop signing the firmware file at anytime. We recommend you downgrade ASAP.

Is Apple still signing this firmware check?

Go to this website to easily check the real time status of what firmware Apple is signing.

How to Downgrade step by step:

  • Remove your password and Turn off Find my iPhone via the Settings app (Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone).
  • Download the iOS 9.0.2 firmware file for your device from iClarified.
  • Connect the device running iOS 9.1 to your computer.
  • Launch iTunes and select the iOS device from the top left corner.
  • Hold the Alt/Option key on the Mac or Shift Key in Windows on your keyboard and click on the Check for Update option, instead of restoring.
  • Select the iOS 9.0.2 firmware you had downloaded earlier from iClarified.
  • iTunes will verify the update with Apple. If it is still being signed it will start.
  • Click Update! That’s it, iTunes should be downgrading your device to iOS 9.0.2.
  • After downgrade is complete. Your device will restart.
  • Now just “Slide to upgrade”. You will be prompted to activate your device.
  • That’s it. Now restore from any old 9.0.2 backup you may have already saved in your computer to bring back your old settings for apps.
