It seem everyone has a chatbot these days. There is the Facebook M, Google has Allo and of course who could forget Microsoft’s Tay fiasco. I mean in all reality Google Home, Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa each a chatbot just without the visual cues. Capital One seems to think that it would be a great idea to do the same with banking. I for one am not too sure. Sensitive banking questions is a big departure from asking for the weather and trivial questions. The “Eno,” according to Capital One is first natural language SMS chatbot from a U.S. bank. That’s right, plain old SMS. I would have prefered if it was part of the Capital One app. We all know that chatbots in general are made to make customer service a better experience than waiting on the phone. It’s like having your own personal assistant at the company. You can manage your bank accounts and credit cards using natural language over text. Eno even recognizes certain emojis. You’ll be able to ask Eno do I really have the money to buy the iPhone 8? At the moment Eno is only available to a limited number of customers. If you want to try it, fell free to click here to get on the waitlist.

You can text Eno to ask about:

  • Account balances for your Capital One credit card, checking and savings account
  • Recent transactions for your Capital One credit card, checking and savings account
  • Capital One credit card bill due date
  • Available credit and credit limit on your Capital One credit card
  • To pay your Capital One credit card bill
  • Your account summary
  • Your payment history
  • Your bank routing number
