Time Inc. has finally worked out a deal with Apple that will allow print magazine subscribers to get access to the company’s iPad editions for free. Those who subscribe to Sports Illustrated, Fortune, and Time will be able to download the iPad versions for free within the magazines’ apps.

Negotiations have hit some roadblocks in the past due to how Apple shares subscriber data. Publishers want the data to apply the TV Everywhere model to magazines. Apple on the other hand feels that subscriber information needs to be opt-in option only. Time Inc. told the Wall Street Journal that the two parties are “moving closer” on the issue.
