Over the weekend I did something that I have not done in a long time. It is shameful but prior to this weekend I had not worked out in more than four months. There are many apps out there that can be used to get you in shape if you have an iDevice. There are however few that offer as much detail and options as iMuscle. Seems I am not the only one that feels this way. It has now been chosen by Apple as app of the week across the entire US iPhone app store. What makes it so great?
The program iMuscle is a sophisticated workout app lets you identify each muscle on a 3D human body. Then you can access all the exercises connected to that muscle. There are options for multi-users as well. One thing you will notice is that many of the exercises require equipment you likely don’t have. It is simple to get around this by just picking the secondary option to work that muscle. there are some who would argue that the app does not really do 3D modeling because you do not have full 100% control as you rotate the body on screen. I say people this is a workout app. If you one that kind of control 3D4 Medical makes an autonomy app.
I had to talk to the people behind this incredibly helpful app. I had an interview with VP of Business Development Niall Johnston about the development of this great app. My Johnston was driving not all answers were clear so here are the talking points we covered that was clear.
Where did the idea for the app come from?
3D4Medical has made a great app for fitness instructors and is also ideal for physiotherapists. We also create 3D medical images. This was the next step.
How did 3d4 Medical start?
We started 3D4Medical as a 3D medical image and animation company. The progression to app development was next. Every 3D4Medical app have been medically approved.
What is next for 3d4 Medical?
Continue to create new exciting apps and update the ones that are already in the marketplace.
Pro: There are so many workout apps out there that it is hard to find one that stands out. One that lacks any issues. A workout app that is simple to use, yet has enough features to keep you using it everyday.
Con:The interface is not as inviting as I’d like. I would like to be able to change the colors from black to one of my choosing. It would be nice if there was an option for counting calories.
Cost: $4.99
Aye/Nay: This is a Aye. This app is like nothing that I have used before. The program has all the workouts you want and some I never thought of. iMuscle is a workout app that more than stands above the rest. $5 is worth it.
