This year Apple will drop another new iOS. However, that is not until later in the year. How do get the beta early? How do you get all the cool new features and the all-important bug fixes? It is super simple to install the beta on your iPhone or iPad. We will show you how. There is no need to wait for the public beta. However, if you only have one daily driver; I’d hold off with the install.
Gone are the days of downloading an .IPSW file and restore your iOS device in iTunes. Apple now lets you simply install the iOS developer beta profile on to your device directly from Safari. That means you’ll be able to update your device to any beta directly from your System app. To say this a lot easier than old methods is an understatement.
If you have updated your device to a beta using any other format you should download the beta profile using this method right away. Why you ask? This is the only way you’ll be able to automatically receive iOS beta updates going forward. So that means if you did installed a beta any other way Apple recognize your device any longer.
All right enough of the chit chat. Here are the steps to do the install.
- Launch Safari on your iOS device.
- Go to betaprofiles.com
- Go down to your until you see your desired “iOSbeta”
- Click on the blue download button & approve the beta profile
- When asked, say yes to restart
- Once it starts go to Settings > General > Software Update
- Download and install any new versions of iOS
- You’re welcome
If you have an Apple Watch use the same Steps 2-7 only after installing the latest iOS beta.
