It will go from the aging radar to GPS. $11 billion will go to FAA airports. Not all of the airports will get the much needed upgrade. The only airports that will get it are the nation’s 35 busiest airports. These airports have until June 2015 to get it all together. GPS pings for the planes’ locations every second allowing airplanes to take-off and land more closer together.
