Dr. Dre has been in music for years. He is one of the people who have helped make Hip Hop mainstream. He is a constant power to be reckoned with in the music world. He has taken what he learned in the music industry to the board room. The Beats by Dre. brand is instantly known and held up as the top headphones to own. Beats Electronics will soon launch its own streaming services to take on the likes of Spotify and Pandora. The service will be called Beats Music.

Beats Music will cost $20 a month. For that $20 you get just about 20 million songs from the major record labels and a “music experts” to help curate playlists. What is really cool is that Beats Music will also let you download songs to listen to offline. Beats Music will work with Apple’s iOS devices, Android and Microsoft Windows Phone devices. Beats worked out a deal with big blue to jump-start the service. AT&T customers can sign up for a monthly plan that costs $14.99 a month for unlimited streaming and downloads by up to five family members and across 10 devices. The Beats Music service starts on January 21.

Beats has almost as much celebrity endorsements as Nike does. It seems celebrities are not only willing but excited about the products that Beat offers. In the next few weeks you can expect an advertising blitz. Beats Music also bought an ad spot during the Super Bowl. Let’s hope the ads help because music services need up to 10 million paying subscribers just to break even after the high licensing fees.
