EA’s holiday 2015 launch window had a surprised for Need for Speed. It has not been confirmed that a new Need for Speed will hit next gen systems PS4, Xbox One and PC later this fall. This time it’s not a continuation it’s a full-on reboot of the series.

“With more than 20 years of history in its rear view mirror, we’re bringing Need for Speed back with a reboot that delivers on what Need for Speed stands for — rich customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative.” ~EA Community Manager Ben Walke

Lets hope that this reboot is like the Need for Speed Underground that hit the Xbox 360 way back in the day. The series has not been the same since that first launch.   If the first teaser for the game is any indication of where the game is headed, I expect great things. To say that the footage is gorgeous would be an understatement. The exciting part is that EA says that all of its footage was captured in-game. You’ll have to wait for June 15th at E3 2015 to get a glimpse of the gameplay.
