Minecraft is virtual Legos. There I’ve said it. Now that is out of the way. Great news! Minecraft and Nintendo are bringing Mario to the game. The game was already released on Wii U last December but it like so many other Wii U games was not impressive. Nintendo is hoping that a team up with Mojang for some special Mario-themed content can change some minds. The new content will a free update. The bundle will have some of the iconic characters from the world of Mario. There will also be a few items to play with as well as the classic music the Mario games. To get things started there will be a pre-made Super Mario-themed map. What you do with your crafting skills after that is a challenge between your creativity and thumbs.

The new material is inspired by Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. The iconic characters available are Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser Toad, and Wario. Sorry Yoshi fans. If you don’t already own the game; a retail version of Minecraft: Wii U Edition with the Super Mario pack on the disc will release on June 17th for  $29.99.
