Google is helping us get closer into the future every day. They have released an update to Google Translate app that has Instant translation using Word Lens. The Translate app was already able to let you use take photo of text and get a translation in 36 languages. However, now you can point your devices camera to a sign and the Google Translate app will display the translated sign into your language without the use of data. As of now the the supported languages are English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

While Google was working on this extra feature they went ahead and made  real-time conversation mode faster. The feature should also feel more natural. All a user has to do is tap the icon and the Translate app will automatically detect the languages being spoken. From there the app will translate what is being said in real-time. That’s you will not have to click the mic button any more for the rest of the conversation. These updates will be coming to both Android and iOS in the next few days.
