Philips has released Carl Erik Rinsch’s futuristic action thriller short film The Gift, which is about a robotic manservant who flees the police. The car chase is mostly CGI. You will keep thinking about The Gift long after you see it. Rinsch is Ridley Scott’s protege and also a commercial director for Scott’s company RSA.
Rinsch’s was originally tapped to direct a prequel of Alien, but Fox convinced Ridley Scott to helm the project himself. Rinsch’s commercials show an amazing sense of imagination, visual effects artistry and composition. You have to check his television spots out, you should do that after watching this short film.
