Adam Clark Estes The new Playboy will appear on newsstands this weekend. Gone are its illicit ways. That saucier version of the magazine is now more toned down fully clothed PG-13 magazine. If you were one of the rare people that got the magzine for the “ahem” articles, you will be pleased to know that lengthy interviews and long essays by a famous writers will remain. This month will feature MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and Norwegian memoirist and awkward-moment connoisseur Karl Ove Knausgaard.

So, they get rid of the nude 24+ year old women and go with the barely-clothed, barely-legal girls? Interesting tactic.~FIGJAM

For its first foray into the realm of PG-13, Playboy went with a picture that may not sit well with everyone. Sarah McDaniel, a 20-year-old Instagram celebrity is the first cover model. Although she is a legal 20 years of age and free to run through all male as well as female imaginations alike; she still looks like a minor. That said her heterochromia irdum eyes are amazing. Yes, that is a real word. It’s the medical term for her one brown eye and one blue eye. How did Sarah get this cover? Well McDaniel took the internet by storm a few months ago.

“The idea was to look at me from a boyfriend’s perspective.” ~ Sarah McDaniel

Playboy said since it went PG-13  traffic to its website has spiked by 400-percent and the mean reader age dropped from 47-years-old to 30One can not argue with results. Playboy has also gotten rid of the adult cartoons, the racy ads at the back of the magazine and removed the phrase “Entertainment for Men,” from the magazine. The magazine had to do something to get back on top. It once had a circulation of 5.6 million. Now Playboy at is best gets to about 700,000.
