“Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s space setting didn’t resonate with fans. It wasn’t success we planned.” ~Activision exec Eric Hirshberg
If it Happened | We Covered it
Not sure who thought a Call of Duty clone of Titan Fall was a good idea but they should be fired. If sales are any indication they might already be fired. The space-set Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was not liked by fans at all. Activision the maker of the game has at long last admitted as much. Sort of. Game sales were down year-on-year and revenue was down as well. Bundling the game with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered didn’t help. Sledgehammer Games plans to take the Call of Duty series back to its glory days in terms of scenery. The Call of Duty game that will come out Christmas 2017 will go “back to its roots”. I’m sure that the fact this is the most downvoted trailer of all time on YouTube didn’t help motivate them. To be clear; Infinite Warfare was not a bad game it just never felt like a Call of Duty game.
