If your first reaction was “so what?” You are not alone. I had the same thought as well. I mean GIF is old news. In fact Flipboard users with Android devices have enjoyed animated GIFs for a pretty long time now. However, what if Flipboard has been looking at Vine and Instagram with envy? What if this is the first step in the app going from a content consumer to a content creator? What if companies each had a magazine with 15 to 16 seconds worth of moving video? Think of the revenue! Alright I may be jumping the gun on this one but it is still possible. Flipboard’s latest iOS update brings lots of GIF-friendly magazines for your viewing displeasure.
